Veröffentlicht am

The traditional German brand medifa (operating tables with accessories, examination and treatment chairs, medical functional furniture) will be present for the first time at MEDICA 2017 under new management and together with a new sister company, Stahl Hygienic Room Solutions GmbH. From 13 to 16 November 2017, the two companies will exhibit their innovative product systems and strong synergy in hall 13 at Booth A22 under the slogan “we care”.

The Hohnhaus & Jansenberger Group, located in Munich, acquired medifa-hesse GmbH & Co. KG (Finnentrop) on 8 June 2017. Former owner and CEO Gerhard Hesse decided to retire from business for reasons of age. The respected traditional company is resuming business under the new, simplified name of medifa GmbH & Co. KG, as part of the Hohnhaus & Jansenberger Group.

The medifa brand offers a wide range of products in the area of operating tables with accessories, treatment and examination chairs and medical functional furniture. Research and development are carried out 100% in Germany. The company has about 90 employees and a clear commitment to “Quality made in Germany”, and it and its high-quality products are represented around the world. Exports make up 80 percent of sales. As a part of the Hohnhaus & Jansenberger Group, medifa GmbH & Co. KG has been part of a high-capacity competence and production network for years. The group, with around 300 employees, is one of the largest in Europe in the area of highly qualified metalworking for medical products.

The Medical Technology Division of the Hohnhaus & Jansenberger Group, with Stahl Metall und Medizintechnik GmbH (Rastatt), a spin-off of the Maquet Group, is also one of the world’s largest manufacturers of operating table components. Sister company Stahl Hygienic Room Solutions GmbH (Ötigheim) was also founded as a spin-off of the Maquet Group and is a specialist in complete, hygienic room systems with modular walls, doors, and ceilings.

Strong basis for successful further development

The two new managing partners of medifa GmbH & Co. KG, Dr. Wolfgang Hohnhaus and Christian Keller, can build future-oriented repositioning of the company on a solid basis. “With innovative products, high quality standards and customer-friendly, short response times, the company has had an outstanding reputation in its markets for decades,” enthuses Dr. Wolfgang Hohnhaus, managing partner of medifa and co-founder of the Hohnhaus & Jansenberger Group.

“As a part of the MedTec division of our group, medifa now has direct access to a network of powerful companies in the medical market. With this total capacity to call upon, medifa is fully ready even for large projects in future,” explains Christian Keller, also a managing partner at medifa GmbH & Co. KG. The additional build-up of service and sales should strengthen the brand for the long term. At the same time, the new owners would like to make optimum use of the potential resulting from interplay with other companies in the Hohnhaus & Jansenberger Group. “It is a classic win-win situation. The group grows by adding a strong brand and great products. And medifa can continue its success story into the future with strong support,” says Dr. Wolfgang Hohnhaus.
